Glad I asked first.

I prefer laptops over desktops, and I don't want to always have it sitting on my desk taking up the whole thing. I know I won't get as much out of it, but I'd really prefer a laptop.

How much are you willing to spend on a laptop? I would go for one of the ASUS laptops, they look nice.

Actually, and I know this is going to go against everything I already posted, I've been looking into Alienware desktops and they look pretty nice. I'm looking into those now, and they have way more options. They specialize in gaming, so there are all types of suggestions as you go through the build. I think I've got it from here. I'll ask about a system before I buy it of course though.

No. Not alienware. Overpriced. DONT.

If you just tell us the price range of the pc that you are going to buy then we will tell you all the parts that you need to order, it will be 10x the better computer for how much you pay.

Really, it didn't seem like it when I was building it. Seemed way cheaper than any crappy Dell I could build. My price range is between $1000-2000. Is that too cheap?

Get us to pick the parts, and a local computer store to build it. You'll get it cheaper and the pc will be faster.

As for Alienware. Aluminium water blocks. lol..... Alienware you pay for the brand.... and it's owned by Dell so it WILL be more expensive.

1000 - 2000 dollars is plenty. On the upper end of the that you might be abled to get a Core i7 and GTX 260!

Core i7 920
ASUS P6T
GTX 260 Core-216
3x1gb DDR3-1600
Thermalright true
Antec 900
PC POWER & COOLING 610 - 750
