To be honest...I'm a total idiot with video cards. I have the XFX 260 Black edition http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150330
I installed off the CD it came with just to get up and running, I than later updated the latest fron the Nvidia site. I have ran the OCCT GPU test and the card fails horribly. I am getting stutters now and every now ant then after a boot my primary display has a small vibration...it's as best as I can describe it. I don't want to deal with issues like this right out of the box so I am RMAing it back to NE and am shopping for a new card as we speak. I really need help on this. I get it that the new 280's and 285's are gered more for shadder games but I just want to get the best one for a reasonable price...300 range. I do not play any other games on the computer aside from FSX so shading abilities do nothing for me. Got any tips?

WOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The OCCT software I posted is BETA and I also posted NOT TO USE the other tests in that software .. ONLY the CPU TEST

the CPU OCCT 1 hour automatic test is fine

do not mess with any other test in the list.,.. its a beta program and those are new.. just the first option CPU: OCCT

Drivers are a try and see situation

I personally use the 180.48 drivers but they do not work for everyone

Well I just loaded the new 181.22 drivers and notice a bit of an improvement. It SEEMS to help in the heavy hitting areas in smoothing it out a little bit more. The biggest difference I see is that my temps are about 10c cooler! After seeing this I read the details on the driver and low and behold the new driver is to help with power management for the 2 60/280 cards. I also had some artifacting from time to time with the others and have not seen it with the 181.22. I would be interested to see if anybody else sees the temp differences or if its me just seeing things.
