Sata Hard drive help

Postby TexasMike » Mon Jun 30, 2008 8:25 pm

Hello,
I added a Western Digital 640 GB Sata drive to my system for FSX only. It is formatted NTSF. Windows recognizes the drive with no problem. When I try to install FSX, it slows down to the point it would take hours to install if it worked at all. I tried to install Call of Duty just to make sure it wasn't my FSX disk. Same result. I have tried running the WD diagnostics to see if there is a problem with the disk. The low level check comes out OK. I haven't run th high level yet. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Configuration problem or bad drive? Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Texas Mike

Have you unplugged it from the PSU and then re-plugged it?

Might be it o.O.

I know that if my joystick doesn't work, just pull it out and replug it.

Thanks for the suggestions. The drive's been RMA'd and returned to NewEgg for a replacement.
