I have a question for you flight sim gurus! lol...I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a graphics card issue with fsx?...i have always tried to tweak my card to get the best possible settings for performance and just great overall visual quality, but i went to the nvidia site to see what they recommed for optimal perforamce and viual quality BUT, they only had a few example graphic cards ie: 8800 and 7600gt. My card is a nividia 8500gt but i tried looking everywhere to find what they recommend for that card and i dont see it anywhere. If someone could help me with this issue im having i would appreciate very much :-? my settings and cpu info are this.......

AMD athlon 64X Dual
core processer 5000+
2.61GHz 2.00GB of RAM
Microsoft Service Pack 3

THX a bunch

You have a decent rig there... for optimal settings you really need to just experiment. I would try the settings on medium and work my way up from there. Press Shift + Z until you see your framerate displayed (to see your framerate  ;D) 20-30 FPS are good frames, anything above, try moving the sliders up more, anything less, move sliders down :)

Hmm..well, an 8500GT isn't good at all for FSX (which is the main reason it is not listed...) so maybe you should get FS9?

as eveyone else has mentioned, your system is more suited for FS9 however you can try this..

assuming you are running FSX SP2

First, get the most recent version of Nhancer and follow these directions very carefully

http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 959973/0#5

for yours I would use 4xS instead of 8xS or even just plain 4x

Then try setting up FSX like this:

From there if you are still having problems I would say you need to upgrade however you can drop the Level of Detail radius to MED and the Scenery Complexity to NORMAL.. and see if that may help
