Need help... Is this the end of my card?

Hey lads,

I have a problem with my vid card. whenever I start a 3D application my system crashes after 4 seconds max, mostly earlier.

My card is a 7900GTX, latest nVidia drivers etc, but it's almost 2 years old so RMA is not an option... :-/

Hmmm.

I guess it could be overheating, the card itself dieing, or power supply malfunctioning for some reason.

You can try a few things...:

Cleaning out your PC.

Underclock your videocard, particularly the memory, and see if problems persist.

You can also try downloading temperature monitoring programs and see if it's getting too hot.

Other than that I don't know.

Download Rivatuner any check you temps.
My GPU is usually around 55 degrees C and playing games around the same but I have a fan that keeps it at 45C. That's the core not the ambient though...
