Postby Adnan Sajid » Sun Apr 20, 2008 8:11 am

Hi!
Iam playing FS2004 with the following specs
PIII 1.0 GHz
64 MB Nvidia GForce M4
512 MB of Ram
Windows xp sp2

I have slower frame rates.I am not able to switch to other system till december. Can I get some better frame rates if I switches to some better VGA.

You can run a P3 processor with XP? I'm totally shocked that your system is running XP...try FS2002. Or FS2000. You could try a new card but there is not much hope for that system...

Save any money you'd spend on upgrading that computer (its window of upgradeability closed 8 years ago), and use it toward your next computer, in December.

You can get those specs and A LOT more in a desktop.  I have to agree with Brett. You should start from scratch in December or whenever you are ready for your new system and just get/build a new desktop.

You could, in the mean time, install FS9 on your laptop. It would get much better results in FS9 compared to your desktop.

I've been running XP and FS9 on a Compaq Presario 5000 (6 yrs old) with an AMD Duron 700Mhz plus 640MB SDRAM and a 128MB Nvidia FX5200 (last yr upgrades) for the last 4 yrs and getting shots like these... IMO... they're pretty good, smooth shots for such specs... I'm sure most would agree...

FS9 doesn't impact the processor as much as FSX. But yes, that is incredible that you are getting those quality shots with that processor.
