What I mean is, is it really that good to justify a massive price increase if you're using a nonoverclocked system?
Also, would there be much of a diferance between 2x1gb DDR2-800 4-4-4-12, and 2x2gb DDR2-1066 4-4-4-12 with my Q6600 STOCK?
Why would you buy a DDR3 system and not overclock it?
You do realize even with DDR2 and high speed/low latency memory you must enter the BIOS and set it up manually, esentially overclocking it to obtain the speed of the sticks?
So anyone purchasing DDR3 better get use to manually setting up a BIOS regardless of the memory speed cause it ain't gonna boot those numbers on its own. Therefore purchasing the right product and spending the money up front makes for a much happier user, especially with FSX.
The cheeze Kingston DDR3 sticks I used last year for the demo system posted at the top of the forum were 2x1GB Kingston PC3-8500F, Rated 533 MHz/DDR3 1066 @ 7-7-7 20
Those sticks rock at CAS-6 7-6-15 @ tRD 7 DDR3 1440 and if I had not set the system up that way, it would have been no better than a DDR2 533 memory system. They are designed to be DDR3 1333 modules. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820104009
The Asus Rxxxxxx Exxxxx x48 I am on right now is using the sticks I posted @ DDR3 1900
