Will or not, a dual core help fs9 become faster.
I ear that will not because fs9 doesn't. work with duals.

Correct, FS9 is not a multithread application however the way you take full advantage of a dual core in FS9 is to assign the second core to FS9 through the task manager, which frees up the first core for Windows activity and lets FS9 have one core basically all to itself.

Start up fs9.

Ctrl-Alt-Delete.

Right click on fs9.exe---->set affinity. Untick Core 0, now fs9 should only run on the second core. I would recommend you to keep it on the second core, as the first core is often used by Windows.

Cool. Thanks. I have also done this with a few other programs. Oulook rubbing on the 4th core and MSN running on the third.

So, if it is set to run on all cores does the load get distributed across the cores then? Surely this would advantage FS9?

fs9 isn't optimized for multicore, therefore if you leave it running on all cores then the load on all processors may be 25% each, but most likely, 100% on a single core. I don't really understand fs9s extent of using the cores, but Nick said that it's best to make it run on ONE core. So that's probably what's best and what you should try first. You can try making it run on more cores - but I don't know what the result would be.
