Resolution : 2560 x 1600 Pixels
Dell 3007WFP-HC

I'm not so sure the 8800GTX is worth it over the 8800GTS, for lower resolutions. Look on toms hardware video comparison, against the GT/GTS/GTX. Nvidia messed up, by making the lower end cards perform pretty close to GTX.

Although Toms hardware is about as reliable for an honest review as Al Capone was reliable for paying his income taxes...

The nVidia cards are still producing the goods by the look of it, albeit at a price.

After following some posts here I was thinking the 3870 X2 might at last sway me to the ATI Dark Side, the price is definitely getting attractive, I saw some at newegg for $299.

However, the Tom's article shows the ATI card significantly behind the nVidia offerings across a range of software.

Interestingly, the top nVidia card showed a bug with AA in Crysis that makes it unplayable with AA turned on....... exactly the same problem I'm having with my 7900GS in Crysis :P

Knowing Toms Hardware as well as I do, and for a very long time

I would say the bechmarks in FSX went like this: Equal systems and FSX settings for both cards, however the Nvidia card flew airports such as Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the ATI card flew LAX and NYC

Yes, Tomshardware fsx benchmarks are total crap. :)

Forget using any AA for Crysis, on any rig.

AA x4 works fine on my 8800GT with all settings on High. Off I can max it out. :)

I call porkies, I have a 8800GT as well. Show benchmarks please. For Crysis, I'd rather have higher resolution without AA, then lower resolution with AA. Here's Crysis benchmark (will update as new drivers and different clocks)

I am not going to chase up benchmark techniques and programs. :) My rig is OC'd and gets 16500 'marks, at the tiny old resolution of 1280x1024, on this POS screen. I would buy a new one, but I would rather spend my money so I can actually use my current hardware for maximum entertainment, rather than on something that isn't - On my old rig, I wasted money on junk, then purchased games LATER on, and a three year old card doesn't take kindly to Crysis.
