They claim they are SLI supported but I don't see the SLI BRIDGE.

On the Nvidia site they are talking about the X2 and quad GPUs. Being a prior owner of a set of 7950X2s I would never go that route again.

After years of useing Nvidia I just switched to ATI and could not be happier.

If you can refrain from reading the benchies and just try the cards you will find they work quite fine.

LOL!

learned the hard way, huh

Yea, I'll tell ya, if anything crossfire(x) is much more performant than SLi unless Nvidia makes some major changes in the next year

2 x crap is still crap, just more of it

I might be going the ATI route now as I have read all of this. If I do what top of the line card from ATI would you recomend that is equvalent or better than the 8800 GTX or Ultra?

GTX I think.
Slap 3 of these in there:

and one of these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814998401
And you've got a kickarse comp.
Now correct me if I'm wrong now...with the motherboard you have, the two PCI x16/2.0's and the PCI x16 shouldn't conflict because the card is x16...
Then again, your dad may not wanna drop 1050 kaching on all three but maybe just one...or two. ;D

Second thoughts....
This Connector is only for use with the 680i SLI and 780i SLI motherboard.
This connector is only for use with three GeForce 8800 GTX or Ultra GPUs operating in 3-way SLI mode.
NVIDIA will only offer 3 way SLI driver support under Windows Vista.

In some games the 8800GTS outperforms the 8800GTX. Tri SLI is  a total waste of money.

The fastest ATI is the 3870x2 card, it's faster than the 8800GTX however it has slow down issues with certain games. Hopefully ATI correct this. Shame really as ATI really need to compete with Nvidia for a single card design (8800GT/GTS)

i thought that the tri-SLI was only or the ultra. oh well. but the tri SLI will just about double your power bill. on the guru3d review they hooked up a power meter to it and the computer AT IDLE pulled 700+ watts out of your wall outlet. see here: http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/481/3

Yeah. Tri seems pointless after research...
One or two GTX's? Would it be worth it... :-/

SLI GTX is only worth if you're running insane resolution and AA, AF at the same time. Think the Dell 30" which is something like 2500x1900?

I thought the max res on any monitor was 1900x1200 or whatever it was...maybe I'm wrong.

This one is a lil bit more expensive but has a faster core clock speed.
