Both my autogen density and scenery complexity are set to very dense.

No.  I probably won't either.  I understand XP may run FSX better, but there's no reason Vista would be running FSX this poorly.  I don't think Vista is the problem here.  There are plenty of others who have similar systems to mine that run Vista and FSX with no problems.

Right, well, I have one idea, but judging by your graphics card, this would seem rather silly, but bare with me.

Try turning your 'Global Max Texture Size' Limit down a notch, or a few.

If that fixes the stuttering, then you could well have graphics memory issues.

Judging by your graphics card, this seems extremely, and I mean extremely unlikely.  NVIDIA EVGA e-GeForce 8800 Ultra 768MB Superclocked, should have no such issues, but in my experience, lack of video memory can cause stuttering.

For example, I could run my 7600GS 256MB at the full 2560x1600 resolution.  My FPS reading would be 31, but guess what, I get constant stuttering.  To remedy that, you can turn off antialiasing, turn down your texture filtering, turn down your monitor's resolution, or turn down your overall texture size limit.

All of those fixes are related to, generally, the amount of graphics memory you have available.

But, do remember, I highly doubt this is your problem.

FS Water Configurator+ has new modifications in the works, plus DirectX 10, Service Pack
1, and Radeon HD 3+ Series support.
