CH Products yoke & pedals

I really need help, i have been in a tug of war with microsoft &ch products for a week. I have flight simulator on my new laptop that runs windows vista. The yoke & pedals are installed somewhere on the sytem but is not poping up in the game controller and not running with flight simulator.Please let me know

truthfully speaking this should be handled by CH products. But the first thing you need to know is do you have the correct drivers for it.
I do not have VISTA and I am not sure how it works but what you need to do is to check out the device manager and make sure there is nothing in the yellow. If there is that is the problem.
In windows XP you would open the control panel then click on the system icon then click on device manager But VISTA may be different.

I have Vista and had the CH yoke and still have the CH pedals.  I have gone to the Saitek yoke and quadrant.  However CH products came up in the controller window in the game without problem.  

Have you noted that when you plug them in whether you get a window telling you that your new USB device has been installed.  That's probably the first check.

Second are you running them through an unpowered USB hub.  If so ditch the hub and invest in one with its own power supply.  I have plugged my yoke and pedals directly into the computer, and use my hub for my card reader and other less used devices.

And has your computer got an adequate power supply,  The ones that come with factory built machines are usually the minimum.  Once you really get going with FSX, a decent videocard and sound card, more power is needed.  I have installed a 1000 watt supply although around 800 is probably sufficient.

Having been a real world pilot I find the Saitek yoke more realistic.  If you slow down or alter pitch in the real world without retrimming, the load on the yoke can feel very heavy indeed, particularly on larger twins.

The Saitek allows this, although I note that some users have dismantled the yoke and removed the spring, but I find the factory version quite realistic.  

RW pilots develop habits of moving the yoke and then trimming out the load almost as a reflex action after a while.  No thought is needed.

However I got excellent service from my CH yoke and found it good to use.  It is cheaper and I would still recommend it.

For me the Saitek yoke and quadrant makes flying a little more real that's all, and I like that.
