Hmmm....if the HD3850 they had there was a 512mb it would score higher than the 8600GTS in FSX. Strange... :-?

What resolution are you running at? The fastest, reasonbly priced cards are the 880GT 512MB. But I'm not sure if FS-X sway towards a certain brand, ie Half-Life was faster on ATI, Doom engine on Nvidia.

"it would score higher than the 8600GTS in FSX"

That's a budget card.

The 8800GT 512mb is out of my price range...I didn't want to go over $170 but now I'm at $220. The Diamond HD3850 512mb is just right for me.
The difference between the 8600GTS and the HD3850 512 is 1 frame btw.

AH! The Newegg 8800GT 512mb is ONLY $240 USD! But I have to pay tax on that (about $24 for a 9.75% sales tax...stupid tennessee.)

I found an evga 8800GTS 320mb for $220 after the mail in rebate and taxes! It's mine. Though not 512mb of memory it is $40 cheaper and it's framerate is the same if not more than the 8800gt 512mb. :P

I would stay away from the 320mb, the 8800gt is a really nice card, (which I'm a fan of, so much so I have two :P) so obviously you know which one I'm leaning toward. The g92 core of the nvidia has proven to be quite nice. I cant say much for the ati, but it does alright in benchmarks. I haven't seen many though with it beating the gt. If your will ing on the $240 price tag I would say go for it and enjoy it ;) If not, the 3870 would be my second choice, but whatever you do, get 512mb.

STAY AWAY from the 320/640 MB 8800GTS Cards.  They don't perform anywhere near the 8800GT or GTS 512MB Version.  Wii gave you information that may lead to disappointment if you follow it.

Don't go for the 320 GTS... the 512Mb 8800GT is WAY better!

It's amazing my rig can handle my new monitor -1920x1080, everything except Crysis  has a good framerate. tbh won't upgrade until it's totally necassary (rig is 4400x2 @ 2.7ghz, 1900XTX @ 788)

AMD Athlon x2 2.5ghz

3gbs ram
Vista Home premium
8800GT 512mb.
I don't know much about it but medium yes, high? (1680x1080x32 I think) Maybe at 1200 instead.
