problems with running CFS2 on Vista

Postby capnstimac » Fri Feb 01, 2008 9:00 pm

Hi, I'm getting VERY frustrated trying to run CFS2 with my new Vista system. When I first install the game it works ok but when I shut it down and restart it, my planes seem to receive no input from both joystick and pedals. At first the rudder would just lock up but after a couple of reinstalls (again the game would work the first time) NOW NOTHING WORKS! My controllers test ok and work on FS2002 and FSX. Is there some update I need? Does Microsoft still support this game? HELP!

I got the same thing happening in XP so I stopped using CFS2 because I obtained a much better simulator anyway.

I'm not sure if you are interested, but IL2 Forgotten Battles in it's current 4.08m version is an Awesome online combat sim that makes CFs2 look pretty sick by comparison. Consider the upgrade, IL2 is EOL and is heavily discounted.

I really liked CFS2 and stuck with it a long time, but it was time to move on. (I tried CFS3....)

I hope you can resolve this issue, I'd like to know what the problem was myself.
