Strange reboots..

Postby MCAntonio aka AN21 » Sun Jan 20, 2008 9:30 am

In the last few days when I want to play a game (FS9,NFS) the PC suddenly reboots..In Pro street it crashes the moment the EA logo appears. In FS9 it crashes when I start my flight..And then it starts to reboot and reboot and reboot..If I want to make the computer work I have to leave it about 10 minutes with power off..Its the first time I have a problem like that..What is the issue here? The drivers? The card? A corrupt file? Temerature? Voltage?

P.S. I am not sure if this message belongs here so move it if needed..

Any posts welcome!

Check your fan is clear of a build up of dust, overheat sounds like.

I cleaned every fan of dust. Good thing is the temp fall about 10 celcius deegrees(the whole cpu cooler was full with dust you see :P), bad thing is that I still cant play games...Oh! And it does reboot only once this time and not infinetely..

Ya may wanna check your power supply.  I was getting blue screens galore anytime I started up a game and randomly whenever I was just using the computer.  It would also reboot randomly as well.

My PS was going kaput and I didn't realize it, until I swapped it out!!  No more issues now!!

Even though the newer vid cards demand all kinds of power to run efficiently, it won't make a hill of beans if you don't have the power to run it.
