Vid card question..........Again

Postby Mike.. » Thu Jan 03, 2008 5:24 pm

Ok. So next on my lis to purchase is a video card. I had my heart set on a superclocked 8800 GT but the damn thing is out of stock. It was a nice price at 260.00 US with 512 onboard. Anyway, the more I've looked the higher they get in price. I'm not made of money obviously which leads to my question....

Whould I get the same (relitively speaking) effect if say I bought two 8600's, 512-7-- onboard and did the Sli thing? Or is this foolish and I should start donating plasma, sell my Jeep and go into male prostitution to get a damn 88!?!?

Sorry. this is getting fraustrating.....

Ahh yes.....Wait for the new stuff......That will cost just as much if not more based on their new line. Or are you suggesting the the old 88s will drop in price? Probly the latter.....

Ordered my 8800 GTS today. EVGA 8800 GTS SSC Edition w/GDDR3 640 MB SLI PCI-E. All thats left now is the HD. Might try to pick that up this weekend. Hopefully by next weekend I can fire it up and start programing. Hope to take a few shots for the forum when I have it finished. Later guys!
