New PC?

Postby DONTREADMYUSERNAME » Thu Nov 22, 2007 4:41 pm

Alright, time to buy a new PC! My old outdated Dell 4400 (1.6 Ghz, 1GB RAM, ATI-All-In-Wonder 9600) just isn't cutting it any more. So I've done some reasearch and came up with 2 different comparable options ranked in order of my preference....

Option #1
Customized Dell XPS, Intel Core 2 Q6600 Quad-Core 2.4 Ghz, 4 GB RAM, 256MB nVidia GeForce 8600 GTS, 500GB Hard Drive, 22 inch Monitor, Vista Home Premium, after various discounts it comes out around $1475

Option #2
Customized HP Ultimate d4995t, Intel Core 2 Duo processor E6750 2.66Ghz, 4 GB RAM, 512 nVidia Geforce 8500GT, 500 GB Hard Drive, 22 inch monitor, Vista Ultimate, after discounts its alittle more than $1500.

Now, these seem to be the best ones, inside of my price range (and these two are towards the maxium of the price range). Which do you think I should get? I'm leaning toward the first one due to the quad core and slightly better graphics card (plus its cheaper). Any extra advice wouldn't be bad either...

I can't wait because I tired of this peace of crap PC I have right now...

Build it! You wont get some unknown mobo and it will probably be 200-400 dollars cheaper.

You don't have to be...Members from SimV will "build" it for you...You simply buy the products they suggest...

Have you considered this?:

Just need to add a 22" Monitor and you 'll be well within your budget

Just thought of this, but do either of the cards in those computers support DX10? If not, which ones do?

I think most (if not all) GeForce 8 Series support DX10 ;)
