8600 issues

Postby Jayhawk Jake » Wed Nov 14, 2007 7:04 pm

Anybody know what the deal is with the nVidia 8600 cards?  Apparently they don't work.  I got Guitar Hero III for PC and found out my card isn't compatible.  I can play, but on the lowest settings possible.  I contacted the developers, they say the 8600 is incompatible.

Well I don't get it.  My friend got an 8400, runs fine, why is my 8600 having issues?  They just gave me some stupid reason of problems during testing and said they don't plan on fixing it, but I want to know:  Why is my card a lame duck?  Anybody know?  Should I call nVidia or Asus to find out?

Funny...Wasn't it you last time who was having another problem a few weeks ago with the nVidia Drivers? Sucks for us laptop owners...nVidia does not support them...You should get in touch with the manufacturer of your laptop...I really want to buy Call of Duty 4 but I'm worried that if it doesn't work, there go my $49.99...Oh, and I have an 8400M GT... :-[

Strange, I am having a blast with mine. Ofcourse it is desktop and not laptop.

Now with the new forceware drivers 169... it even works better.

I am really glad I bought this card, so much I am planning to buy a second to enable SLI.
