You should get O&O Defrag Software...It really helps ;)

He asked for free software, Ashar. O+O isn't exactly cheap stuff. I have a free registry cleaner called Eusing Free Registry Cleaner. Works great. I don't know if you use this PC for e-mail or internet too. If so, I would suggest Spybot and Ad-Aware.

Good luck.

Good Morning,  Here's wishing that your day goes well for you,

WOW  - - - BE CAREFUL,    There are some free and bought programs  "out there" that will give you a real bad headache .   You mentioned  c cleaner - - -  My  PC wasn't right for a long time after I installed THAT program.   Things were happening that I could not understand why.

Any program I put into my PC anymore is one at a time and tested with time and if there are any problems  - - it is removed.     Also  - - - ASK here on the forum and even then be careful with installed programs.

     Have a good one,   caveman

Hi Dom ;)

I'd say you need Spybot Search and Destroy for preventing spyware, and Avira AntiVir is a good anti-virus that uses a very low amount of system resources, so more available for FS ;)

Windows defrag does the job fine for me, no need for 0&0 I don't think.

Adaware and Eusing Free Registry Cleaner are both useful too.

Regards,
