requesting MSI 8600GT photo, anyone?

Postby DonAlfonsoRoKil » Fri Nov 02, 2007 12:03 pm

I want to know how large the heat-system on an MSI 8600GT is - not the one with the fan, the passive colled one.
But with googling I either find pictures of the GTS version or only photos taken from the top,
but I belive there'

Well an educated guess would be that its going to be about 13 inches from the case wall.

Seriously there are many many other ways to get silent cooling other than sinks this big, I would recoment one of the Zalman fanless systems if you want that.

Booa, that's big...
I think i'll just take that oc-shader version from MSI, it has a fan and only half it's total height.

Thank you for help!

Or buy a eVGA card because they have much better cooling solutions and tend to overclock better anyway.

What are eVGA cards? Sounds good, though the card I wanted to take has very good overclocking capabilities already.

eVGA is just another company. NVIDIA doesn't actually make the cards, they just make the chip. MSI, eVGA, XFX, ASUS are all companies that make cards.

BFG or eVga are both the best card producers IMHO. Both are very reliable, good OCers and outstanding customer service. That fanless is a bad idea for two reasons= It's big, and it would make your chip run hotter than a sunofabtch without a tornado blowing through your case. If you want silent get a Zalman...

I knew that, but not that eVGA is a manufacturer! :D :D I thought it's something like a different type of slot or hardware interface :D :D

Thanks anyway,
