Wireless Network Problems

Postby VVM » Thu Nov 01, 2007 7:51 am

hey guys...not sure if this is the right forum to post this in so sorry if its not.

i currently have a wireless network at home (with two pcs and one laptop).  now i am having loads of problems trying to get everything to 'talk' to each other.  whenever i open 'my network places' on one computer, the other two never show up.  its rather annoying as i cant send documents etc to other pcs on the network without using a usb stick.

i have tried the network wizard several times but it never seems to help.

can anyone advise please?

cheers   8-)

You need to make sure that each computer has file and printer sharing ticked ....... you also need to check that each computer has the same workgroup name.

Right click on My Computer.

Click on the Computer Name tab check the workgroup names are the same

If not change so they are.

Then go into network places and check that they are showing ...... sometimes it may require a restart to fully save the settings.
