Should I buy another gig of ram, or buy a new comp

Postby coolpick » Wed Oct 24, 2007 10:53 pm

Hey, I have a laptop right now,
1.8 intel Duo Core
1 gig ram
256 video card
100GB HD

I was thinking about getting another GB of ram to put in it, but I was thinking maybe I should just sell it, and build me a desktop for around a 1000? I really dont take my laptop around anymore, mostly to the living room, and every once in awhile to the library,

Well, for starters, what purpose does the laptop fulfill for you? ;)

I mostly just get on the internet, run Pro/E and MasterCam and FSX, it does the first 3 good, FSX is alittle choppy at med settings.

Well going from laptop to desktop gives you a whole new world. You can buy much better graphics and processing power for less money, however with a new monitor and operating system you would be looking more at $1400 for a good FSX setup.
