Everything done except these:

If you completed the entire list with the exception of the defrag and use of registry mechanic

Another thing is that the windows update didn't give me a list of things it just went ahead and installed (KB892130) just that.

here's the screen shot of teh decive manager page. Not sure if I got what you need here since it is in spanish I had to guess some of them

wait... you mean it only installed KB892130 (WPA windows genuine advantage) and it dod not offer you any other updates?

hmmmmmm

Go back to Windows Update http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ in IE and see if there are 2 buttons, one says EXPRESS and one says CUSTOM. If not, you are not getting WU connection, which is not good and we need to get that one figured out

I would also like you to download the latest DirectX 9 runtime:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... layLang=en

Download, save and run, follow the directions. It will update DirectX9 automatically from the web.

Also, please download this package and install it:

Everything on page 3 done  8-) I got to say it was not that hard. After doing the updates there was another for framework 3.0 so I went ahead and installed it, I hope that was ok, sort of made sense.

Ready for you orders sir  ;)

ERROR CHECKING done no errors that I could see (where does it save the log?)

O&O installed and ready to go.

Current add ons:
Ground Environment Pro
Active Sky6.5
Squawkbox3
Freeflow Florida
Glacierbay
Some other stuff I don't think important

I got an unregistered version of the FSUIPC do I need to buy the one with all bells and whistles? And how would this affect the stuff I got currently installed?

ready to go

Sorry Dan, I have been preoccupied with the loss of a friend.

As for Asv6, are you using the clouds they provide or just the weather engine?

I ask because although they do have some nice clouds, ASv6 cloud textures are not as well designed for looks and performance as another title, at least in my opinion. The weather engine is fine but I would suggest a different product for clouds, disable installing cloud from ASv6 and only use it for weather generation.

If you would, please post the video driver revision you are using. Let me know if it is these: (v163.71)

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_163.71.html

and if not, which revision you are using.

I assume you are set up with the drivers using Nhancer and the post I made about those settings? If you would, please boot the Nvidia driver control panel. (Right click the desktop, select Nvidia Control Panel) and select Manage 3D Settings. If you would please post a snag (it will probably take 2 images because you have to scroll to see them all) of the current driver settings list. I wish to confirm what you are running.

FYI, for FS9, run 4x AA and not 8xS as I outlined for FSX in the Nhancer post. All other settings should be the same.

As for O&O Defrag, do not run any defrags yet but please do set it up as follows:

Boot O&O Defrag. The first time it is run a wizard will appear, just get rid of it and if possible, select to not have it run again (there may be a checkbox for that in the wizard that appears) Once you get rid of the wizard, do the following:

Nick... you forgot one step... the extended version of windowsupdate

Assuming he uses XP... link names probably not 100% correct, dont have the involved screens ready here
Go to windowsupdate site (as posted above)
On the start page click the 'microsoft update' link
Another screen will open with a text that imples 'with accepting this you wont see any other eulas'

Possibly a message will be shown complaining about automatic updates not being activated the right way, turn them on if it says so, and click the 'continue microsoft update' link.

A similar screen as with 'windowsupdate' will be shown, click the 'custom' button
Usually the scanning here will take a little longer as this one can also do driver, MS Office and Visual Studio updates.
After scanning there might be some updates displayed on the results screen. If not check the sidebar if one of the categories has a number behind it (larger than 0), these need manual activation to get these installed.
Check that all possible upgrades are checked, and continue the same way as windowsupdate

And for the addons
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0: x86 (KB928416)  - Most changes are in graphics section... install it, the latest EVP and possibly WOAI installer use it
Conexi
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and [url=http://an24.uw.hu/]An-24RV[/ur

Microsoft Update is a way to streamline updates between Office and XP. It is not required for performance and will not provide any extra updates but it is a much more convenient way to get the job done. I use it and if he wishes to install it, that

72 is fine... that makes sense

As for the drivers, CONTROL PANEL - SYSTEM - HARDWARE TAB - DEVICE MANAGER BUTTON

expand display adapters... right click your card and select properties, driver tab

dont change anything.. I want to see what version you are running and if it needs to be changed I will walk you through the right way to do it.

Settings look good. Just make sure AA is set to MultiSample 4x in Nhancer under the Global settings and/or profile for FS9 if you made one

Also, change the "Multidisplay Mixed/GPU acceleration to "SINGLE DISPLAY MODE" in the Nvidia drivers unless you are using more than one monitor
