ATi HD2600XT PSU requirements

It's my birthday this Friday and CharlottesMum has offered to get me a new graphics card, namely the above mentioned

My birthday is on Friday too! I think could get away with your current PSU as long as it has the required power connectors but I would advise getting a more powerful one. Oh, and don't plan on playing DX10 games on an HD2600. Even the HD2900XT's and the 8800's have trouble running DX10... much less an HD2600XT.

350 is a bit low. The 2600 is not that powerful of a card but I think you may need a bit more power than 350 to make sure it has all the juice it needs.

Hooking the card to a different monitor makes no difference in power needs, however, to run higher resolution you do the right video memory for the frame buffer. They make a 128, 256 and 512MB version of the card. For very high res you need 512. 256 would be the lowest I would go with typical resolutions (below 1600x1200) 128Mb would not be an upgrade.

The card and PSU turned up this morning, all installed and running sweeeet  :)
I'm gonna fire up FS9 this afternoon and give it a test run  8-)
