Joystick

I have a Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joystick which I've had for quite a while and which I enjoy using. In addition to the "twist" handle capability and appropriate number of buttons, what I like about it most is its wide and heavy base which makes it a seady platform. Unfortunately, a couple of its buttons no longer work. I believe that this model is no longer in the market. What models I've seen thus far are very light weight susceptible to being knocked over. Is there any model in the market with similar or better characteristics than the MS force Feedback 2?

I had exactly the same model which I enjoyed for a number of years until the internal electronics failed.

Replaced it with a Logitech equivalent, which also gave problems shortly after!... ...

..replaced that one with my present Saiteck Cyborg Evo Force (with the feedback turned off!)....

Yea, the good old Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 joystick... mine is still working and I'm glad it is because there's no other stick like that one.

PS: Why do you guys turn Force Feedback off?!?! That's what makes everything more realistic: turns, trimming, landing, etc. The only time you want FF turned off is when you are flying a fly-by-wire airplane like the A320.

I just find it annoying.....!

It does not represent the actual "feeling" of flying a real Cessna 152, etc, in any way....
..either in the air, or on the ground.....!

Until someone comes up with a way of introducing real G-forces and vibration effects on the body, a wriggling joystick is not quite the same... ....
...trust me....LOL... ...!

P.S. A force-feedback type of joystick is necessary to obtain the "floppy", twist action of the joystick......!
