2 Monitors

Postby a1 » Tue Sep 25, 2007 9:03 pm

I am going to set up 2 monitors on my GeForce 8800GTS. What do I do to have one monitor blank and the other one showing FS. I need the blank monitor to show gauges and all the little things That I might need. How do I set up this and what do I use to set it up? Will this type of set up lower my performance in FS?

Thanks

a1,

Check the other thread just below this one... which will point to other threads... you may find what you need there.

If you use the SAME computer to drive the two monitors then you are using the same videp processor power to draw more stuff.... so it CAN affexct performance.  If your machine has a lot of extra ooomph.... then the hit will be litle.  If it is marginal to start with, you'll likely see a bigger hit.  It also depends on WHAT you display on the second monitor.  If you are displaying a high rez moving map or GPS display,..,.. that will take more power than maybe some simple analog gauge faces.

Read the FS2004 Learning Center on multi monitors too.

best,

OK. Thanks but I can't really use 2 monitors at the moment as I just found out. ;D ;D My second LCD monitor started smoking and made weird noises so I'll forget about the dual monitors for now. ::)
