The "other VGA" socket will accept a converter to plug your new monitor into...

Many Dual Monitor Graphics Cards are supplied with this Converter.

Pop into your local Computer store and pick one up....
...(after paying for it...of course!)...;)...!

My last vid card was a 9550... it had a VGA output and a DVI output.. is this what you mean?
VGA is the male/female pin type, DVI has two rows of small square pinholes.

There is no advantage to useing the other PCI card. Your current card will handle 2 monitors with ease.

I have used multi monitors for years. Once you use them you will never want to go back to a single monitor.

I think the DVI socket is designed to connect to a Television Set, etc, but will also connect to your VGA Monitor with the aid of the Converter...;)...!

The Monitor arrangement is then selected via the Graphics Card's "Control Panel".

F.... ;)...!

So, the 9550 will handle 2 monitors?  I just bought and installed a 9250. Does anyone know if these 'budget' cards can also run 2 screens?

Both my wife and I use 4 monitors on our work computers. When you install the other card just make sure both cards use the same drivers.

Yes, the 9250 will handle 2 monitors
