New Video/Graphics Card

Postby drummer_tom » Tue Aug 14, 2007 6:28 am

Well I have a Dell Dimension 2350 (yes it's quite old I know!), which has got 64MB integrated graphics.  :( I want to upgrade this, however my computer only has PCI slots NOT PCI Express. What cards are out there for PCI which are not too expensive and are at least 128MB? :question

BTW, is it true that PCI isn't as good as PCI Express and will PCI still run FS smoothly?

Cheers

Alright, you can get a ATI Radeon 9550 PCI card from newegg.com or any of the like for about $60. Now its not going to preform miracles, but you can finally play FS9 at decent settings getting okay framerates.

As far as the amount of VRAM you need, 128MB is fine for mid settings in FS9, yes current games want 512MB or more, but my ATI X800 ran FS9 just fine with "only" 256MB of RAM.
