Performance-wise, this isnt a bad notebook. The integrated soundcard doesnt look bad, but I'm no expert on sound cards. If all fails, a USB sound card would help.

If I know Aldi, you'll have more chance of finding Pamela Anderson with her assets available at your local store!

Aldi (& Lidl) are masters of loss leaders that 95% of stores do not stock, by the time you realise this, they hope, you've already got half a trolley of shopping and there loss leader has worked - it got you into the store.

Did you read the full specification Paul, and compare it with the asking price...?

A Sony, HP, etc, will cost twice as much, with a lesser specification.

After a careful study, it seemed pretty impressive to me, and more than suits my needs as a software/hardware music programming computer for my MIDI/USB keyboards, synthesizers, drum machines, etc!

The UK branch of Medion is located in Swindon where any necessary service and repairs are carried out.

All the items found in Aldi's weekly catalogue can always be found in their local store, (a mile from me).

(Lots of useful "stuff" at bargain prices).

Paul... ;)...!

Don't know Paul. Looks like the processor is the weak link in that one. 1MB L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB, and only 32-bit compatibility. The T2130 is essentially a stripped-down Conroe. Comparing the two the Conroe processor has a 4MB L2 cache and use a 1066/1333MHz FSB.
Still not a bad price though(around U.S. $920), assuming you're not planning on any upgrading, and there is a 3-year warranty according to the advert. I'll compare it with tommorow's (Not always)Best-Buy advert.

Many thanks for the extra info, Mush....

That's what I was looking for...;)...!

Laptops/Notebooks are a bit out of my field of expertise, and I'm certainly not well-up on the inner workings of Intel Processors...(More of an AMD Man myself!)... ;D...!

At the moment I have all my Music Programming software running on my bulky PC* and coupled to my MIDI keyboards via long MIDI data leads on the other side of my studio.

A small Laptop (running the same software) mounted on top of my Keyboards would be much more comfortable/sensible.
...but it does require a FAST processor, lots of RAM, and a good Sound Chip, to convert all the streaming MIDI data to audio waveforms, without any "latency" (delay)... :o...!

This is just the sort of advise I need in this application....
...thanks Folks... :)...!

Paul...You hum it....I'll play it... 8-)...!

* The PC with its specification below, and it's quality Creative Labs Soundblaster Pro 1024 Sound card does the job admirably, but is inconvenient and bulky to use for live playing.

Geewiz Paul, what kind of setup you got there? ;D ;D

Back in the 1980's bands were using Atari ST boards for MIDI. :o :o The first Creative MIDI kit ran on MS-DOS........ ::) ;D ;D

Hello Mush...

Vangellis and Jean Michele Jarre dont get a look-in with my present set-up....

...trust me... ;D...!

I have a house full of (1980's) Yamaha DX synthesizers/sound modules, M-Audio Master keyboards/Digital Pianos and software, Roland Drum Machines, and very tolerant neighbours, (trust me)...;)...!
...LOL... ;D...!

....(also had/have a  1984 Sinclair Spectrum 48K with a MIDI In/Out/Thru hardware add-on, and music composing software for my various DX Synthesizers...olden days, long long ago!...joy!)...!

Paul... ;D...!

Prokeys 88 Stage Digital Piano, Korg CX 3 dual manual Tone-wheel organ (Hammond B-3), M-Audio Sequencer, KeyRig, and Drum and Bass Rig, for starters...

Music is the spice of life...play on!... ;)...!

You must have batter branches down south mate - I'm yet to find any of the interesting computer kit related offers advertised available in any of the 3 stores in my area.

The spec isn't that bad at all, well worth snapping up, my point was (from my perspective) getting ones mitts on said item.

One of the Broadband providers (Orange iirc) is giving away a free laptop with a 12 month contract - Now thats a bargain!  (PC World related I think)

Woo-Hoo...!

Cured the problem at last, with little cost!

Instead of lashing out for a new Laptop/Notebook;
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.
