Postby alis1981 » Wed Aug 08, 2007 4:42 pm

Hi guys,
I am planning to buy new video card for my PC, so which is the best one and the least expensive one to buy so I can play Microsoft Flight Simulator X in ultra high setting??? Please message me as soon as possible.

Thanks.

least expensive

ultra high setting???

Those two terms don't go together.  ;D

In video cards you get what you pay for. You want cheap then you will need to turn down some settings. If you want high settings then you don't want cheap. I've generally found ATI to be the least problematic video cards but of course someone else will post after me and say that NVidia cards are better.

wasn't there a comparison, of four images, two from an 8800 GTS, and two from a 2900 XT?

Those pictures clearly showed (on a game, maybe Half-Life 2: Lost Coast) that the GeForce's textures were clearer, and the Radeon's was kindof blurry.  (And Half-Life is an ATI sponsered game)

anyway, like what Matt said, least expensive and ultra high dont work together (they b!tch slap each other).

unless you mean then least expensive card to get ultra high settings.  that could mean its an expensive card, which happens to be the cheapest of all the expensive cards...

FS Water Configurator+ has new modifications in the works, plus DirectX 10, Service Pack
1, and Radeon HD 3+ Series support.

it's all a matter of finding the right balance for what you need

the highest end card available today, will probably force you to upgrade also other parts of your computer as well, just to support itm and even then, it's arguable whether it will be able to run FSX on ultra-high settings (i dont think theres enough computational power in the world for such a task ;D)

however, FSX can be enjoyed just as well with a medium-end card, which can be found a lot cheaper, and won't give you too many upgrading troubles...  but with graphics turned down and avoiding hi-res areas of FS

a cheap card i wouldn't recommend, since you will have stutters all the time in the game and will be probably wondering why you didnt spend a little more for a better GPU

anyways, my 2 cents here

Cheers
