GPU is the least of my problems...

Postby Kaworu » Mon Jul 23, 2007 11:00 am

...in my graphics world!  ;)

Hello all, I've got a bit of a problem with my monitor. It's being rather, umm, noisy.

I've got a Dell 19inch CRT, from (I think) 2003. It constantly makes a very high pitched rigning sound that is driving every one in my house insane. I really don't want to part with this monitor, as (a.) I can't afford a new one, (b) I like this one better than any flatscreen I've ever used, and (c) I have a lot of friends who tell me that they get a lot of defective new flatscreens.

I want to buy a new flat monitor, but I want a high quality one, possibly a bit bigger, too. Which brands have the best price/value ratio? Thanks!  :D

if you are looking for the best bang for the buck, it would be this unit:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824014124

24" and full HD-DVD 1080 support.

It also rises and rotates 180 degrees for those really LONG web pages

Well, you are correct. That is out of the budget, by leaps and bounds! I was thinking more $150-200 USD!

get an Acer 19 inch widescreen http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824009100 for 159 bucks I doubt you could get a better monitor. The one I have is 174.99 though and is perfect, its the AL1916.
