Help!!! Obi ONes!!!

This is about my Dad's pc.This morning when he turn the pc on, the machine makes the reebot and the welcome screen but then it stays with desktop screen and no icons, and after a few seconds it appears  the menu to restart or to shut off.
Everything was tried form the f8 options, not even the safe mode works so we can use the system restore.
Help su Obi Ones you're are our only hope!!!

Hmm I wonce saw a virus that did something similar to that. It is an odd problem for me but my first guess is a ram stick might be bad or failing, how old is the PC and what are it's specs? It kind of sounds like it got corrupted wich is a leading side affect of unstable ram. Also your CPU could be overheating causing the system to shut down and reboot. Check the temps in BIOS and make sure your computer is not cloged with dust bunnies.

It sounds like a minor hardware problem or a software problem because of when it happens. A serious hardware problem would not allow a POST or even a boot-up. I assume you are using WinXP.

Give us some system specs to further assist you.
