New Graphics Card !?!

Postby LSmedley92291 » Thu Jun 28, 2007 4:27 pm

I need a new grahpics card. I don't know what to get. I want something that will eliminate jaggies completely (they are a problem with my 64MB integrated chip) but I also don't want to break my wallet. Basicaly I want the best value posible for something like...oh I don't know...maybe a 256MB card. Thanks for your help.

You need to post the Spec of your PC and your budget! Also is it for FS9 or FSX?

Regards

To be honest I don't know much about my machine, but here is a link to the company's page for it. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docu ... 82&lang=en

Thanks

Alright, from what I have been able to find, you may or may not have a PCI Express slot. To find out without opening up the computer is very easy.

1st: http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-140.zip Download, and run. Click the motherboard tab, and look at graphics interface.
2nd: Post back here with your findings.

If you have a PCI interface, you are kind of screwed. A X1550 PCI is probably the best you can do, however if you have PCI-E you are in luck. You can get anything from a X1950Pro to a 7900GT all for under $200.

At this point I'm 99.98% sure you only have PCI, but just to dubble check, pop open the side of the comp, and take a look-see.

Just PCI slots on that motherboard ....... the good news is that PCI graphics cards are really cheap  ;D ;D and you wont have to upgrade your power supply to tun anything that will make a big difference compared to your integrated graphics.

Motherboard specs.

Glad to see you back and complicating the issue as usual Cameron  ;) ;) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D
