C2D Processor temperature almost 56

Hey guys, i wanna know what is happening in my computer. The Mobo temperature is so so 39

Did you apply thermalpaste to start? That CNPS700Cu should be just fine to cool that CPU. If you are looking to go for an aftermarket thermalpaste, Artic Silver 5 is the best you can get. Put a drop about the size of a pea on the processor. Spread it around on the processor until you get an even layer covering the whole thermal pad of the processor. Then mount your Zalman, and set it to whatever you want (I have my CNPS9500Cu all the way up for max cooling).

What is the ideal temperature to my CPU and Mobo? So I have to buy another cooler, and thermalpaste from Arctic Silver 5.

I saw that the processor is BOX, has a cooler COOLER MASTER, but even yet the temperature is 50

The Ideal temp for a CPU and motherboard are around 37*C a +/- varation of about 5*C is okay.

The PSU isn't affecting your temps any.

As for what CPU sink you should get, Zalmans are the best. I thought you said in your orrigional post that you had a CNPS7000B-Cu. If this is the case, your absolutely fine for a sink, you just need to make sure that you have adequately applied thermal paste. Artic Silver 5 is the best type of paste on the market, so if you can; get your hands on some of that.

Ok! THanks! I read the posts, but even I'll buy a Thermaltake Big Thyphoon VX, to do a great overclock, and a PSU Huntkey 550W Green Star, or a Extream 600W Aurora. I think it will improve my system and underlow the big temperatures in my CPU

I'll buy another cooler, coz my computer just has one cooler i thnk, the Cooler Master Original in BOX from the Processor E6300. But this isn't helping, i dont know if the guy that make the computer didnt do the correct the Thermal Paste...

It sounds to me like you have never installed such devices like a heavy CPU Heatsink. The one you posted is a monster, difficult for even an expert to install and in my opinion is not going the get you any better temp than a Zalman 9700 which will most likely snap into the socket without having to remove the motherboard or have a huge block of weight hanging off the CPU.

That HSF had its day a year ago but as far as I am concerned its design is not very well thought out. Does it work? yes, is it needed, no. There are better solutions (9700) that weigh less, easier to install and I would bet would cool better.

I would highly recommend you have a proffesional install any device like that unless you know what are doing.


So I understand this now, you are using the stock cooler that came with the Core2 processor? If that is so and you are hitting close to 60c and assuming the person that installed it, installed it correctly, and, you not overclocking, then I would say a combination of your PSU and the way the tower is optimized for airflow is the problem.

In order to overclock you need a high performance CPU heatsink and in either case, a new and correctly spec'd PSU. You also need to make sure the inside of that tower does not have wires and cables laying all over obstructing air flow. If you live in a warm climate where the ambient room temp is in the high 70's+ then you can expect the system run warm even with the right parts installed and you may need to add another fan to the tower to increase the airflow.


I just looked at the specs on the Huntkey PSU.. dont bother, its a cheap made and dirty signal supply. I can not find any english engineering information on the 600W Aurora. When you find a power supply it is best to post the manufacture web page and not the sales site web page. The sales sites tend to post the wrong specs (oooopsss I wonder why) from time to time

Yeah, I'll call a professional person to do the job for change the cooler and PSU. I don't know if the cooler was installed correctly, coz it was a person that sent to me the computer after. But I'll buy the Thermaltake Big Thyphoon anyway, coz i want to overclock, and great performance. I claim to my computer with this big temperatures. And about the PSU, the Huntkey brand is a great one, coz here in my country (Brasil), has too much generic brands, and i think that Huntkey, Thermaltake, PC power, Antec, are greaters. More 600W Thermaltake, here in my country is too expensive, so I'll buy the Aurora 600W or Huntkey..


I think maybe the temperature now is underlowing each single day, maybe!! I have to wait for 200 hours of utility of thermal paste, to know what to do! Today the temperature didnt pass from 54
