Did you go into the printer's properties and set sharing? (Start>Settings>Control Panel>Printers and Faxes>right click your printer>Sharing).

The following only works if the Network has been installed properly:

Go to:  Control Panel->Printers and Faxes.
Under 'Printer Tasks', click 'Add a printer'.
Click Next.
Check the Checkbox which says: 'A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer'.
Click Next.
Check the Radiobutton which says: 'Browse for a printer'.
Click Next.
Select the printer from the tree.
Click Next.

The printer drivers should now be transferred to your computer.  Once that's finished, you should have the printer up and running.

I imagine that the same rough procedure would be followed on the Vista laptop.

interesting...

just to make sure, there are no plus signs next to the computers availiable?

i know...

go to the bottom right of ur screen on the taskbar.  find the Network icon then right-click it, then choose Status.
click the properties button.
u should get a list of things.
in it, there should be 'File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks'. if that checked? if its not check it.

if u dont have it, then click the add button, select service, then click next.  select the file and printer sharing service, then follow whatever to install it.

then following the same procedure on the other computers, then following the previous procedure that i wrote earlier.

if that doesnt work, then may i suggest attaching the printer to another computer, as it might be a strange compatibility issue (which is unlikely, but u know computers...).
