Don't get confused between Bytes and Bits.

Note the difference between Mbps...Million bits per second.......
...and MB/s...Million BYTES per second.

Internet speeds (data transfer) are given as "Bits" per second, (1/8th of a Byte).
Very much slower that Bytes per second..!

one Byte = 8 bits.

So Kbps= Kilo bytes per second?  what's the difrerence? :-/

Bits and Bytes can be confusing and it is how Internet providers confuse a customer to get them to believe their connection may be faster than it is.

You have to WATCH the abbreviation they use for the speed they advertise!



1 MEGABYTE per second = MBps

High-speed is overrated.  Why get one of those wimpy plastic cable modems when you can ge a modem built like a tank!
