Your honest opinions??.....Thank you please!

Postby SGT BOB » Thu Feb 15, 2007 7:03 am

Hi,

Im a bit torn as to whether or not i should purchase the Track IR 4 pro?!
As a student, i dont have that much money to throw around, and at 100 odd quid a pop, i wanted to find out everyones opinion on this product!
Is it really that good? Does it add to the overall realism? Is it awkward wearing the cap (vector expansion) when flying? Is it really worth the price, or should i wait till it gets cheaper?

Thanks folks, in advance!

All the Best

as long as u hav a deacent frame-rate, its spectacular.

it only does one thing: track ur head, and it does it really well.

whenever i fly, i use trackIR because being able to just turn ur head abit to see the runway, is so much better than pressing Num7.

i believe tho the price is a bit high, but its a brilliant piece of hardware indeed.

P.S. anyone else u know will want to try it, and steal it from u!!!

Agreed - it's one of my fave add-ons. It's so much easier to fly when you can actually look where you want to go rather than having to fiddle with a hat switch - it makes turning onto finals a breeze!

If you do get one be ready to accept defeat the first week or so - it takes a little getting used to but soon becomes second nature.

The 6DOF is very cool.  If you move toward the intruments they get bigger.  You can lean to look around window pillars, wings, etc.  You can look around the yoke to see the switches and gauges that may be hidden.  It's the only way to fly!  :)

With my machine at first when I got, I was getting lagging issues in the game. So at first I was getting pissed and was ready to post the problem on the forums. But then I did a little tinkering around in the TrackIR settings and found out that if you go to view - Tracking - click settings button and a new window opens - and uncheck "Use blue LED for TrackIR Enhanced" everything works perfect. Its the best investment by far.

I know many pieces of hardware which are great, but some features that are shown on sites arent as good as they make it sound, or the way the reader interprets it.  But TrackIR just doesn't, and can't dissapoint.

If you practice for a bout 30-60 minutes straight, TrackIR will become second nature.  Just be careful, you might end up in a real plane, turning your head by 2 degrees and wondering why you're still looking at the instruments ;D.

All who can afford it, must have TrackIR!
