Thrustmaster Cougar... good stick

Postby Ivan » Tue Feb 06, 2007 3:33 pm

Found the latest version of this veteran at the local av outlet (Mediamarkt)
Felt more solid than the Saitek X52... but the price is also quite solid (being over 200 euros)

Is it worth getting this metal beast?

I like it, it feels much better than the X-52 I think, but if you spend another chunk of money putting Hall sensors in it, and rebuilding the gimbals, it is the Ultimate stick.  Stock, I still think it's better than the X-52, and it seems like the programming software is easier to use as well as there is a huge multitude of buttons on it.  Overall, it feels really solid, and if you like flying fighters, I think it's one of the best, so I would say pick one up, and if you feel the need in the future, you can always mod and upgrade it.
