Disappering icons

Have you ever had icons suddenly disapper from you desktop? That's what happened to me. May you please explain this?

Usually it's caused by low recources or low memory. Find out many processes are running in the background. Have you tried to refresh your desktop when this happens?

No, I haven't, but I do know that there were too many programs in the start menu. Maybe that's the problem.  ::)

It will usually happen every 60 days if you have it set to run desktop cleanup wizard ;)

Well it's not that because I don't run desktop cleanup wizard. It hasn't happened since so I hope I am done with it.  :)
