Recommendation's?

Postby born_2_fly » Sun Jan 28, 2007 5:41 pm

Recently, I've been looking to buy a few things for my computer, and I was just wondering if any of you guys had anything to say, either for/against anything that I mention!

Firstly, I'm looking to buy an external Harddrive, mostly for my own peace of mind, after my little mishap and a bill that's costing me

You will be more satisfied and save money in the long run buying CH first ;)

Hmmmm, I did go through a stage of thinking that it might be worth getting the CH yoke and pedals, but it doesn't really suit what aircraft I fly, I fly mainly Airbus short haul aircraft, meaning that I would have the side stick control in real life, and so it's the realism I'm after really. Secondly, I don't fly GA props all too often, and even then I find a stick a much more comfortable choice. Thirdly, I just don't like the position of the throttle on the CH stuff, again this goes back to me flying heavies a lot, its much more natural to have the throttle quadrant to the side, plus, I really don't have the room for a yoke next to my computer. And finally, FS isn't the only game I play, and so I think a stick would be much more versatile.....

Plus, I have used a CH yoke before, and no offence, the one I used had a kind of 'cheap' feeling to it. It seemed really hollow inside, and I felt it was a bit to flimsey...

Plus I much prefer the look of the Saitek stuff....

CH doesn't make only a yoke. ;)
And yes I agree they may look "cheap" but the difference is they put the major quality where it counts and that is the internal workings. If your looking for something you don't want to replace every other year CH is the best.
You plan on buying sticks all the time then Saitek is the way to go. :)

Personally I find the Saitek sticks extremely uncomfortable to use for long periods of time, especially the X45, the buttons hard to reach comfortably and I have big hands so someone with small hands will be doing a lot of moving around. But it is personal choice your best bet is to try and borrow a couple sticks to test out before putting your money down.
