Reply's a bit late I know but yeah as you said, go with OCUK for any online purchasing of hardware. I bought most of the items for my current pc from PCworld (big mistake) the whole lot took a week to arrive. Purchased a graphics card from OCUK, the thing arrived by the next post.

3dmark_06 is not a video and it does stress the card, so much so in fact that any weakness will almost certainly show itself as a crash or error using the program, I use the program to test max O/Clock settings on video cards and it definitely will show hardware limitations with an error messgae or full blown crash.

If the repairer tested the card using that software and was satisfied that the card was not faulty, you should understand why they would be annoyed for having their time wasted by someone with other problems who is blaming it on them.

If it were my company, I'd have an extra service charge for people like you who wasted my time.

In any event, it sounds like your problems lie elsewhere, and, even if the video card is the problem, perhaps it's only an overheat problem in YOUR particular installation which did not show up when tested on the bench rigs at the repairer's workshop.

Is it only one game these problems show up in? and what are the problems you are having?
If you and them both ran 3dmark and it showed errors it is very possible that the problem lies elsewhere than the card itself, could be the game, drivers etc...

PC World should wear a mask when they serve you. I leave that store to the guillable/non P.C. minded and to those who are easily parted with their money. I sometimes go in to laugh at their prices. Always cheers me up.  :D

it is worse in the Source engine so Hl2, Day of Defeat Source etc etc, the tree's flickers, blurry textures in the distance and objects do not appear until up close, i know in the source engine the draw distance isnt great but since i got my 7900 its just been getting worse and worse, a problem i never had with my 5500.
but as i said before, if they can not find any errors with my GPU even if they play on it, the fault must be with somethign else they have supplied.
and to congo, i know i sound like im wingeing abit, im just frustrated that everytime i have used them i have problems.
