Now... with all of this said about the differences between ATI and Nvidia, which I do appreciate everyone's feedback on BTW, I do have another question.

I don't think that clock speeds have anything to do with 'read / write times'. If that were the case then the X1900XTX would be worse than the X1900XT which simply, isn't the case.

To 'up' memory speeds, you MAY have to loosen the memory timings. I do not know if superclocked cards have loosened timings.

Now... with all of this said about the differences between ATI and Nvidia, which I do appreciate everyone's feedback on BTW, I do have another question.  It seems like to me that whenever I've bought an overclocked v/card or a v/card that hasn't been overclocked, usually the v/card that's overclocked tends to have a slower read/write time between the card and the mobo.  When I say read/write, I mean that there seems to be a slowdown in communication between the v/card and mobo (such as not as quick to register hits/kills in FPS games -- either in single player or multiplayer mode).  I also understand that these so called superclocked cards are oc'd from the manufacturer and tested on their rigs.  So for my next question, has anyone else experienced this also?

Most likely you are expiranceing a bottolneck on your CPU. The GPU is telling it things faster than it can listen, so there is a delay.

Remember kids, your GPU can only go as fast as your CPU can support.
