I want a flat out opinion (You can see my specs in my signature)
Does my computer stink like monkey poo? I see all these people on the forums with computers that have the most insane specs I have ever seen!
I have "old" stuff and all my games run smooth- and thats all I care about

This computer cost us $1100 two years ago.... and it was top dog...
At least I can play FS9, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Republic Commando...

You know what's wierd? People are complaining about how they have cards like mine and they are getting bad framerates on FS9 with medium settings....
I can max the settings on FS9 and get VERY fluid gameplay. (I don't know how to measure FPS exactly...)

You may be getting fluid gameplay at 15 to 20 fps, but trust me, real smooth gameplay is about 40fps and over

How do you measure the actual FPS?

PS- I consider 40FPS and higher a requirement of fluid gameplay! I get high FPS on every game I have!

press 'shift + z' in fs and it will tell you your fps.  i think you need to press it 2 times.

It dosent stink like a monkey poo but shes gwettin a tad old. Don't know what kinda cash you may have on hand but throw that sucker on Ebay, for 1100 u can build yourself a new decent computer but save up and wait till about May before you even THINK about buying new parts.

That is all that matters, its not the size of your specs its how you use them.  ;D

There are sadder parts to this story... When I got this computer I had to pay $100 for FX5500.... It didn't come with computer... There was originally a GeForce 4 in this thing!

The human eye can only process 25 FPS, thats what TV is broadcast in, so 40 FPS is a bit silly, and a waste of resources, set the limit to 26, that way you setup can put more resources into scenery, textures etc. rather than the frames  ;)

Well, looks like you people were right, I dumbed my graphics down a bit and I'm getting 35-45 FPS......
I'm probably not ganna get a new computer until Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic III comes out....
