Well I would have gone with an ASUS board anyway. I'm not the biggest fan of Abit. And before you broke your board, did you ever benchmark your cards. You may have a problem in your crossifre link.

I'm about to get the:

EVGA nForce 680i SLI
Motherboard

and a GeForce 8800GTX, I'm still thinking to go with 2 8800 in SLI, and I will get rid of the 2 stupid ATI 1950XTX

What do you say is this a good idea? I cant wait 16 weeks to see whats new and then wait until deboged...

P.s. in SLI I have to buy the sme exect card? or the SLI card is differnt, like the croos fire ATI?

Thanks

If you ripped off the port of the board you should definately get a new one. In SLI you buy two identical cards.

I think FSX is the problem. I think it sucks.

Nope, I really think that theres something wrong with the card.

As for your new setup. I like it. Infact I like it so much that it also happens to look much like my shopping list for may.

The only thing you may want to know is that the eVGA board is a template board. Its a bit cramped around the PATA and RAM slots, but other than that has recieved great reviews. But if you have the cash, the ASUS Striker is the best board on the market for C2D.

What dose C2D mean?

And about the asus, what makes the asus better from the 680i ? The 680i has higher FSB, higher memory speed, and SLI compatible ram, and should work great with my corsair 8888!

is a template board. Its a bit cramped around the PATA and RAM slots,

What to you mean by saying "template"? If I use only 2 gig (to slots) is also a problem?

I need 5 sata 2 ports, 4 ports to raid, and the 5th for documents, and back up.

I see the 680i comes with 2 floppy connectors....why?

And last, what is JBOD support?

Thanks.

P.s. were can I buy those items and return with in 30days or so If I don

Well since the chipset from the eVGA 680i and the ASUS striker are the same, they both accept the same parts. The ASUS has a much better layout, and a much better cooling system on their chips.

What to you mean by saying "template"? If I use only 2 gig (to slots) is also a problem?

You will be able to do it, but its going to be a tight squeeze.

I need 5 sata 2 ports, 4 ports to raid, and the 5th for documents, and back up.

All nForce 5 boards have 6 SATA ports. And if you need more there is always eSATA or the PCI cards.

I see the 680i comes with 2 floppy connectors....why?

It dosn't It comes with one PATA, and one FDD. I don't know where you got that from.

And last, what is JBOD support?

JBOD is a acrynim for RAID which means Just A Bunch Of Drives.

thanks for your quick reply.

as far as i'm reading, 8800GTX is "THE only card" that works for FSX! so I think of  buying now only 1, so i can play, till the new comes out and debog'd

also the antec nine hunderd gamesr case has a very good cooling system, but no place were to menuver, so what do you say about tha 180 case?

if you dont mind asking again is it any differens wich brand 8800GTX  I buy?

Thats a lie. A horrable horrable lie. The 8800GTS will run it just fine. Both are G80 cores and both support the same things. The 8800GTX just has 128MB more of RAM and a tad faster clock speed.

also the antec nine hunderd gamesr case has a very good cooling system, but no place were to menuver, so what do you say about tha 180 case?

I like the P180 quite a bit. However if your worried about space, the Silverstone Temjin TJ07 or 09 are two cases to look at. I will be building in a TJ07.

if you dont mind asking again is it any differens wich brand 8800GTX  I buy?

In this order. eVGA, XFX, Leadtech, BFG, ASUS. Heres some food for thought http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2873&p=5

Cheers
