My Saitek X52 Flight Control System

Postby Boeing227 » Sun Dec 10, 2006 4:30 pm

I have to say... It is the best joystick you can get for the money. It looks so cool in the dark just sitting there lit up.

I love it's throttle system and it's multi-fuction display. It is so cool!

Guys,  don't aim for the X45 one, that one is crap... And I mean it! It doesn't have rudder control unless it comes with pedals.

The only thing it's missing is that force feedback thingy that you can feel the bumps with.

But, I just love it. I got last year fore Christmas. It works with all my games too.

My X-45 died on me a few days ago. Thing wouln't center anymore. I was thinking about a X52, but then saw Dave's sig, and decided on a Couger Thundermaster.

I have an X52 also and LOVE it! Before I got the saitek I was using a MS Thrustmaster yikes, that thing feels like a playschool joystick compared to the saitek! (well, I guess it is...)

Couple of issues I do have with the saitek is that after 3 months of usage, I still cant get the hang of the built in mouse and... space! I really struggle on my little computer desk to have both the stick and throttle in a comfortable position whilst not blocking the screen or losing the keyboard or mouse!

After my lovely Microsoft Force Feedback II Pro gave up the ghost many years ago, followed by my Logitech Wingman FF2 which also died on me, (neither of them could be repaired), my current Joystick is the Saitek Cyborg Evo Force which serves all my requirements... :-*...!

The only problem is, because the "Twist" spring is so strong, the twist handle has developed a slight backlash reducing the accuracy of banking...(and puts a strain on the wrist!)...
...also, for some reason, the action does not default to centralise all the controls at the start of the flight, (previous joysticks did), so everything accelerates off and turns to the right... :o...!
The Throttle and Twist have to be cycled through their maximum/minimum positions before starting the engines..!!

The good news is, it has a selection of lovely blue lights....(seven!).... ;)...!

Paul...Doing "The Twist".... 8-)...!
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

i just picked up an x52. i'm waiting for my new PC to arrive before i try it out though along with FSX.

i already have the CH yoke, throttles, and rudder pedals, but i wanted something more realistic feeling for jets.
