err 7300LE? Let me say its overclockable 161Mhz.... but with 4 pipes and 4-512 of your ram going out the door? Not worth it.... I bought one, better than a 6100 onboard..... but terrible!

My advice.... buy a nice fancy card and be done with it!

Before I go out and buy a new card, remember I have a house, wife, two children, a dog and some fish, the cheap side of me has had a thought.
The GeForce 7300E is 512MB using system RAM to do its stuff. Can I via tweaking or software prevent the card from using my system RAM and only use what is on card, effectively making the card only 256MB. It would still be better than than the 128MB card I had in my old machine.

Through your BIOS you can tweak the card to steal less RAM, but you can't completely stop it from stealing. You can knock it down to 64MB.

This is going to only improove your FPS by mabe one. The bottom line is that the card IS NOT a gaming card, and was never designed to be. It was designed for those who needed a 1900x1600 res for their 40" monitor and a second output for their old monitor. With only 4 Pixel pipelines, and a slow core you just can't expect........well much more than your getting out of it.

Cameron, thanks for that. I can live with what I have got until DX10 is on the shelves.

That's what I'm doing, but not because I am upgrading to DX10, but because the cost of DX9 cards will decrease when mainstream DX10 cards are released.
