Strange AA Issue

Postby Tchkinjiu » Tue Nov 14, 2006 1:42 pm

Just a strange problem, it's not hard to fix, just gets very annoying very quickly.

Every time I start up FSX or 9, the airplane is completely Jaggy, from where you choose the aircraft to flying.  The quick fix I do is just load up the ATI Catalyst Center.  When it loads up, the game goes black for half a second, comes back and it's all smoothed out.

Any suggestions on this? I've tried to find an option for loading the control center on bootup, thinking maybe that's it, but I still can't find an option.   Running an x800 Pro

When was the last time you did a full clean and driver reinstall? I'm thinking a curupt driver, and opening CCC is somehow reseting it.

This may sound stupid but are you keeping the Catalyst opened? I mean the Ati icon there down...

Not exactly sure when I last did it, but even if it has been awhile, why would it fix itself, without any drivers, whenever I open it?

And I do keep the icon in the taskbar, but I close the window.  Even if I close the whole CCC down after I load it up, the AA will keep smooth.  ???

Turn off the AA setting in the flight sim itself and use the driver setting to overide the AA settings globally.

Also, I found that if FS is using a different screen resolution to your desktop, the switching of resolution to the FS setting may kill off the AA setting, I use the same desktop resolution as I do in games as this occurs in a few software titles I use.
