I am not sure but I think you can still download the XP-64 Demo and give it a try.

I have XP-32 and XP-64 and see no real advantage to the 64 bit OS.

Until you are ready to upgrade to Vista I would personally recommend XP-32.

XP x64 is what I use for FS9. X64 is all about driver and software support. Some programs will run exactly the same on x32 and others will be blazing fast. Photoshop in graphics and photo production and Premiere in video production run like a rocket on x64 compared to x32.

FS9 runs smoother, not faster, because it has better bandwidth to work with in the OS, but it does not improve frame rates. It makes the frame rate smooth instead.

The only reason I run the x32 versions of Windows XP and Vista is for testing and some software holdouts which will not run in x64.

There are game titles which have patches for x64 and dual core use.

I would get the trial version and see how you like it and to make sure you have all the driver and software support. Ber advised the folder "PROGRAM FILES" in x64 is split into 2 folders... Programs Files
