I too was thinking the same...I wanted to know as a safety precaution, can I remove my side panel for heat removal? Will it create static? I don't want to mess up my computer...also, shall I post my temperatures from what Everest gives? I can take a screen shot...

Your not going to be sticking your fingers in the tower... it just needs to be opened to verify the heat issues.
As for cleaning, that may be necessary if you have never done it in the past. At that point you will need tobe careful and make sure the tower is completely unplugged... also, hit the power switch a few times after unplugging it to de-energize the power supply.
If you live in a high static environment, such as carpet and dry air, use a static clip however with the motherboard grounded to the tower I am sure it will be fine.. just take care while cleaning. A good can of compressed air from a local office or electronics supply works good for flushing out the heatsinks and grills.
