A few questions concerning DX10.

So....with DX10, will that slow down your computer if you keep everything else the same? or does it just change what your looking at?

DOes that make sense?

not really, but dx10 is going to only be on windows vista i think ???

DX10 won't do anything to slow your PC down.

It won't have any effect on current hardware, it doesn't even exist yet.

DX10 is Vista only.

DX10 requires dedicated hardware.

It will provide a better envirnmant for Aero, other than that no. Vista is doing enough itself to eat the crap out of your system.

I'm running Vista RC1 x64bit with aero on my rig (spec below) and it's a shoe in, seems sweet as.

I can't get my raid array up yet or play games / detect gameport joystick either. Also a couple of devices not configuring. I'm sure it can be fixed, all in good time.

I ran 3dmark05 and it sucked partly because I couldn't access my advanced video driver settings, but I saw a lot of minipauses (the likes of which an untweaked MSFS would reveal) while briefly testing those first couple of levels in 3Dmark05.
